The Donald Davis Papers, 1950-2005, contain the administrative files of Davis while afaculty member of the UT Graduate School of Library and Information Studies (GSLIS),now the UT School of Information. Correspondence, memoranda, reports, photographs,printed material, publications, programs, notes, newsletters, and other documentsrelate to the planning of the 40th and 50th anniversaries of the GSLIS, especiallyin regards to his involvement with the Graduate Studies Committee (GSC) and thedevelopment of the program. The reports and memoranda about GSLIS, the faculty, andthe GSC emphasize the importance of faculty-student-administration relationships andthe school’s place within the university as well as within the field of library andinformation science.
